Three Down, Seven To Go (With More To Come)

Ginger and I traveled to Maysville, KY this past weekend to watch our grand daughter number one (Taylor Sargent) graduate. The Mason County Royals graduated around 186 this year, and Taylor ranked in the upper 10 percent. She was one of many who obtained more than a 4.0.
The graduation was on Friday night, and the graduation party was Saturday night. During all the visits of guest, friends and family I told Taylor: “This is the beginning of your adult life!”
She paused for a moment, then said: “And it’s going to be an awesome life, Grampie!”
I think back, when I was 18, and wonder if I had that much confidence and faith? Taylor Sargent definitely hears the beat of a different drummer. . .
Ginger and I were both 19 when we were married. Did we really know what we were doing? Probably not, but with the help from God -- we managed. If I had it all over to do it again -- I would probably do it the same way. Ginger on the other hand, would probably change a few things.
It’s a great feeling to see your kids turn out OK. But it’s even more rewarding to see your grand children rise to the occasion.
Taylor will succeed in life because she knows the Lord, and she knows what she wants. It will truly be an awesome life!
