Robert Winner Sons Inc. or better known as Winner’s Meats, an area processor located in both Osgood and Greenville Ohio. On July 18, 2009, they were again fortunate of winning "National Recognition" at the National Cured Meat Convention, held in Omaha, Nebraska this year.
This year, Robert Winner Sons Inc. was awarded “Reserve Grand Champion” in the Large Diameter Class with their Blue Ribbon Bolgna. All entries are judged on the basis of aroma, flavor, eye appeal, color, and texture. The panel of judges for this year’s event included Professors, Technical Advisers, and Directors of Science and Technology from an assortment of Universities from all over the country, along with several other management officials from large meat packing companies.
The American Cured Meat Championship is held yearly and draws hundreds of entries from meat processors from the entire United States. During the three day event processors have a chance to.meet with other meat processors to discuss new techniques to enhance their products as well as listening to speakers talking about the newest innovations available to the meat industry. This year alone there were over 575 entries in 23 different categories. Last year, the convention was held in Cincinatti, Ohio and Winner’s brought home another award with their Winners Wieners. This product has won many Grand Champion awards at the Ohio Association of Meat Processors Convention which is held in Columbus, Ohio yearly.
Winner’s Meats has produced many homemade products receiving many awards at the state level of competition. They are so pleased to receive such an award at this National Level. They are very well known for their quality beef and pork raised on Winner’s own farms along with their signature homemade products including their famous Marinated Pork Chops and Chicken Breast. They sell freezer beef and pork and also perform custom slaughtering and processing for area farmers.
Winners are members of the Ohio Association of Meat Processors, as well as, the American Association of Meat Processors, the nation’s largest trade organization representing well over 1500 businesses in the meat/food industry.
