    Home For Christmas

With out a doubt, Christmas is Ginger’s favorite Holiday. This is why we’re here in Ohio, to celebrate our Lord and Saviors birth, and to spend time with our wonderful family.

I’ve estimated we will have approximately 24 visitors this Christmas. The family get together will be December 20, 2014, at the Godfrey’s home.

With just three children, we started in 1966, 1967, 1968 we will entertain Kelly (daughter number one) and husband David Rank. Also attending will be Chris (grandchild number one) with wife Michelle, Roman (great grandchild number one) and Athena (great grandchild number two.) Marie (grandchild number four) with boy friend Drew. Austin (grandchild number seven)

Jennifer (daughter number two) and husband Tim Sargent. Also attending will be Ty (grandchild number two) with wife Briana, and Lennox (great grandchild number three.) Taylor (grandchild number three) and husband Kyle. Mason (grandchild number five) with girlfriend Mariah. Morgan (grandchild number six) with boyfriend Tanner.

JR (son number one) and wife Lainie. Also attending Trey (grandchild number eight) and Ella (grandchild number nine).

Throw in at least one dog (Rosie) and we will certainly test our abode.

What makes this Christmas so special is that we’re hoping the entire clan makes it? Taylor (grandchild number three) and husband Kyle have been stationed in Germany for the past several years. Ginger is elated to have the entire group all at once, in the same place. Sounds like a Kodak moment to me.

Ginger and I have been more than blessed. Each year we ask God that our cups continue to be over flowing. 2014 looks like we’ll need a 55-gallon barrel.

It’s true; Christmas can feel like a lot of work, particularly for mothers. But when you look back on all the Christmases in your life, you’ll find you’ve created family traditions and lasting memories. Those memories, good and bad, are really what help to keep a family together over the long haul.
